At the age of 18, John Kolb began his career in construction. Throughout his years in the construction industry, he spent a lot of time doing roofing. During this time, John became very aware of bat issues in residential and commercial structures. This niche is what led the Kolb's into full-time bat mitigation. Over the years, John has become the expert bat mitigator and bat consultant, bringing years of experience to perfecting the bat mitigation process.
Jill Kolb, has been spent years scaling and perfecting the operational background of the business. In 2024, Jill has taken on the full-time position as Marketing Manager and continues to strategize and analyze how to grow the business. The company has grown to 11 people, with two team members being John and Jill's daughter and son-in-law. The company continues to expand because of the need for safe bat mitigation throughout the country in both residential and commercial spaces. Lexi
Operations Manager South Dakota
Lexi has been with CP Bat Mitigation for 5 years now and in 2024 she is excited to be taking on a new role! In the past, if you called CP Bat Mitigation you would have been greeted by Lexi on the other end of the line and worked with her with any issue or question along the way. This year she will be saying “goodbye” to answering the phone and will only be working in the background dealing with day-to-day management and scheduling. Though Lexi's main role has been in the office, she has also been to inspection calls and installs, helping our team as needed.
Lexi, is the daughter of the owners, married to Nick, and mother to two beautiful children. Lexi loves her job because she has the privilege of working with her family and staying home with her kids.Nick

Nick
Inspections & Customer Acquisitions
Nick is the youngest of five children and grew up on a small family farm and ranch. He graduated from high school in Winner, South Dakota, in 2015 and went on to get an Agricultural Science Degree from South Dakota State University in the spring of 2019. Nick began working for the business immediately after graduation from SDSU, starting out as an install technician. After the first few months with the business, Nick began to assist with inspections and customer acquisitions before moving full-time into that role in 2020.
Nick enjoys spending his free time outside of work with his wife Lexi, two kids, and other family and friends. You'll often find Nick pheasant or deer hunting during late fall and early winter.
Nick’s favorite part about working for CP Bat Mitigation is being able to serve others and help them protect one of their biggest assets, their home. Having purchased a home of his own that had a bat infestation Nick understands firsthand the importance of having the peace of mind knowing that bat mitigation work is done correctly to ensure all unwanted tenants are vacated from the premises!Sam

Benji
Technician
Although born in Minnesota, Benjamin moved to Sioux Falls at a young age. As a graduate of Roosevelt High School and South Dakota State University, he has long found home in the Rushmore State. With a degree in Geography and a heart for travel, Benjamin is well-versed in many unique experiences. One of them is bat mitigation, a career Benji truly enjoys. His favorite aspects of the job include climbing ladders and working at heights, helping customers with peace of mind, and the simple oddity of getting to work with bats.
Beyond the bats, Benji is husband to Ashlyn, active in his church, a former cranberry harvester, an avid rock climber, a Hobo Day Committee alum and enthusiast, an active high pointer, a lover of backpacking, movies, and much more. And he would be ecstatic to chat with you about any of those things, alongside resolving any need you may have with a smile.Nate
