Daniel Defoe Hall – University of Greenwich
In total, the buildings accommodate housing for 358 residents and include both self-contained studios and shared apartments. Each building is constructed with piled foundations, a concrete frame, punch windows and rain screen cladding and render for the envelope.
PSP were highly involved in the transformation of Daniel Defoe Hall which is located close to Greenwich Town Centre and the Greenwich Dockland Light Railway Station. The building can be seen from a variety of angles and always looks impressive.

Working closely with the material supplier meant that PSP were able to have a high level of involvement in the project from the outset, allowing a proposal of the most suitable system to give the required aesthetic appearance.
PSP manufactured the external façade using their fully CWCT tested Matrix IP rainscreen system using the ever popular material COR-TEN® which gives the building its vibrant colouring. The client required a vivid student friendly building which is exactly what has been delivered.
